甚有同感, 香港太擠, 池太小及少. 好處是容易相聚, 交通方便, 吃東西方便. 任何各國大小比例模型及電子,摩打motor等零件都很易買到, 亦算便宜, 平過在外國的價錢. 例如同是買 Trumpeter, 在香港買 是在英國買的 2/3 價錢.
國內地方太大, 很難相聚, 動輒幾百公里, 9600000 square kilometer = 3098 km x 3098 km, 是香港的 8791 倍. 若是圓形會是一個直徑 3496 km 的圓 (若計算地面是球面, 應為 3507 km), 不過有很漂亮的湖, 水面又靜, 放船一流, 但有時會很孤獨. 國內的屋子大, 可擺放很多船. 但國內模型選擇少, 很難買到外國牌子的大小船隻, 零件也不易買到.
有一個船友住在 New Zealand 的 Auckland, 全城只有一間模型店, 只有小船, 大一點的船及零件都沒有, 空有很漂亮的湖, 十分無癮, 且很少人玩船. 所以國內或外國的船友來到香港都會狂買, 人民幣或美金都好好用. 尤其是國內女士來香港買化粧品, 名牌手袋,....其洶湧情況真是嚇死人, 男人們還以為是免費派發, 不過最後有大部分仍是由男人 (丈夫或男友) 付鈔, haha. 所以説女人錢易賺, 因為女人嘢由全世界 (男人及女人) 一齊付鈔, 男人嘢絕大部份是男人自己付鈔.
香港的人工小池還有一個好處, 就是船沉了很易撈回來. 國內的大湖, 若船在湖中沉了便很難打撈, 連位置也摸不準, 水又深, 沉了便是沉了, 讓它做鐵達尼, 安息罷.作者: JINROH 時間: 30-8-2012 14:15

You are not alone. I appreciate those young men who still insist on building their own dreams by their hands and brains, everything is first-handed and DIY (do it yourself). Just like your pinky Akagi and the cargo ship, you have injected your imagination and creativeness into your work. Nowadays so many people are spending their time in playing computer games and gossipy information. Those on-line games are just only computer programs designed by computer programmers, all are second-handed (prepared by the programmers) and under their control. Inside the CPU (central processing unit) are just only very complicated mathematical algorithm and a lot of sophisticated manipulations, though the circuits and optical fibres are functioning at the speed of light but still they are lifeless and have no spirit.
When you came across a game centre, looking at those youngsters pressing the keyboards rapidly and mechanically, it is so pity that they are wasting their money and spending their life on the lifeless machines which are just only packs of electronic logic circuits.
You are special, keep on doing the right thing.

Yes Richzy, we modellers treated our models as hobby, not a toy. What a hobby be distinguished from a toy is we actually put our hands and effort on it, and lighten it up with our inspiration.. to give it life.. as lease they are living things in our mind...
no matter how beautiful or pricy a toy is.. they are simply toys and have no mental connection to us... they are non-living things...
